Why this tool exists
Modern AI text-to-speech voices have become some of the most natural-sounding options available, and they're fast enough to feel responsive even on a free tool. The six voices each have a distinct character: alloy and nova are good defaults for general narration, echo and fable have more warmth and range for storytelling, onyx has authority for serious content, and shimmer is soft and friendly for casual or accessible content.
This tool is intentionally limited in length and rate so it stays free and abuse-resistant. For most use cases (hearing a sentence read aloud, generating a quick demo voice, choosing between voices for a paid project) 500 characters is plenty. For longer scripts, podcasts, or batch processing, you'll want a paid plan.
